Understanding the ground before we mobilize

Network of about 950 km, standard gauge (1,435 mm) on recent lines, 1,067 mm on the historic network, mostly non-electrified. Infrastructure and operations: Ghana Railway Development Authority.

Our road-rail plant is built for 1,435 mm standard gauge; compatibility with the gauge in use in Ghana (standard gauge (1,435 mm) on recent lines, 1,067 mm on the historic network) and approval by the infrastructure manager are confirmed during the study.

Working in Ghana

Can you work in Ghana with your road-rail plant?

Yes, subject to study: road-rail MEWPs and excavators are shipped by low-loader, container or ro-ro with their certified operators. Lead times, customs formalities and local approval are built into the quote.

Which track gauge in Ghana?

The network in Ghana uses standard gauge (1,435 mm) on recent lines, 1,067 mm on the historic network. Our plant is built for standard gauge; adaptation to another gauge is studied with the manufacturer before any mobilization.

Can you train teams in Ghana?

Yes. AK FORMATION designs in-house sessions in French or English, on site in Ghana or in France: rail safety, road-rail MEWP and excavator operation, overhead-line work, first aid.

Do you work with local companies in Ghana?

Yes. We work as a subcontractor to French or European companies engaged in Ghana, and in partnership with local companies: provision of plant and operators, technical support, training.
